Director of Operations (Caribbean)

Our client who manages a resort in the Caribbean is currently looking for an experienced Director of Operations who comes from a strong Food & Beverage background. This role functions as the operational manager for the hotel ensuring all departments perform successfully to their maximum efficiency and are individually profitable in accordance with budget guidelines. In addition, to assist in ensuring the success and sustainability of the hotel in achieving its objectives by deploying best practice business excellence processes and policies, empowerment and continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities include; oversee the resort and management team in execution of the business strategy ensuring the Business Excellence. Conduct frequent inspections of the hotel operations to ensure service excellence is maintained. Verify that the best products are used in the hotel operation. Take responsibility for the timely delivery of capital projects within the property to ensure company assets are effectively maintained. Ensure health, safety, hygiene and other relevant legislative obligations are fulfilled, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the hotel, guests and colleagues. Actively participate in relevant business meetings to facilitate effective communication. Act as the Senior Manager for the resort.

Main skills ideally would include;

• Previous Experience in 4*/5* resorts
• Caribbean or island experience preferred
• Strong F&B background.
• Savvy in Rooms, Revenue Management & Sales and Marketing
• Hospitality Qualification
• A proven track record
• Attention to detail
• Entrepreneurial Flare
• Strong Leadership skills
• Sound Business acumen
• Budgeting & forecasting ~ High level of financial acumen including solid experience with P & L and KPIs
• Excellent presentation and Communication skills
• Sound Administration & computer skills
• Impeccable level of personal presentation

In order to be considered for this role, you should have a minimum of 3 years Management experience gained in a 4*/5* hotel or resort.
You should have some international experience (Caribbean experience would be preferred) and a combination of operational experience in both Food & Beverage and rooms.
Strong communication and influencing skills and be able to lead, develop and motivate colleagues at all levels and from diverse backgrounds.
